The First Post

I've decided I need to get back into blogging. I'm pretty sure that the decision is based out of sheer boredom, even though I'm not always bored.

I'm in a part of the year at work where my job is long periods of boredom punctuated by moments of high-speed workaholism. And then when I go home, I really don't have much to do, but sit around, watch tv, drink, listen to music, play video games, but nothing really exciting.

I've been listening to this mixtape (CD really) of Robert Earl Keen that my neighbor Jeff made for me. Robert Earl Keen has written some amazing songs, and Jeff put almost all of them on the CD (Jennifer Johnson and Me, Jesse with the Long Hair, Corpus Christi Bay, Shades of Gray, Feeling Good Again...the list goes on.) I get paid to write, and I have a guitar, but I can't make the two agree, mainly because I really haven't had anything in my life that is deserving of a song.

But thanks to the beauty of the internet, I have stuff in my life that is hopefully worth blogging about. I've got writing, and I've got a camera, so hopefully just wanting to give people something worth reading will inspire me to live a more exciting and entertaining life.
